County cricket unites India-Pakistan cricketer duo

Srinagar: In a rarity these days in the World of Cricket, County Cricket team Nottinghamshire has united the archrivals duo of India-Pakistan cricketers Ishan Kishan and Mohammad Abbas with the duo playing together for Nottinghamshire in the match against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

India batter Ishan Kishan is making his debut after recently signing a short-term deal with Nottinghamshire for two matches. Meanwhile, Mohammad Abbas is a regular in the County circuit. The pacer has taken 16 wickets in five matches so far.

Speaking before making his debut, Ishan Kishan highlighted the importance of each session in the longest form of the game.

“In England, you don’t have so much time. Every session is going to be very important. Here you have to concentrate on every ball while having faith in your partner. There are various factors that I have to keep in mind,” he said.

Nottinghamshire are currently on top of the table in the County Championship Division one, while Yorkshire have just managed to secure one victory in seven matches.

This is not the first time Pakistan and India players have shared the field in the County Championship.

Previously, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and the Indian top-order batter Cheteshwar Pujara represented Sussex County Cricket Club.

Nottinghamshire Playing XI

Haseeb Hameed (C), Ben Slater, Freddie McCann, Joe Clarke, Jack Haynes, Ishan Kishan (WK), Lyndon James, Liam Patterson-White, Farhan Ahmed, Dillon Pennington, Mohammad Abbas.
