Budgam Cycling: Waheed storms to victory

Srinagar: Waheed Ahmad who plays for Celestial Buds School Narbal stormed to victory in the Cycling for no to drugs organized by Sheikh-ul Aaalam Sports Development Association at Budgam on Monday.

In the event almost all the top riders of the valley participated barring International cyclist Mohammad Akber Khan. Waheed who is known as brilliant young cycling talent of Kashmir, stormed to victory in senior category with a comfortable lead. Saqib finished second while as Mansoor who recently bagged bronze medal in national championship finished third.

In junior category, Basharat finished first while as Tawheed of Celestial Buds School finished second. Mashoq finished third.waheed-with-parra

Earlier event was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Budgam. At prize distribution ceremony, Secretary Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra was chief guest and he distributed prizes among the winners. Among others present on the occasion were Sports Council member Rifat Abdullah, Principal Celestial Buds School Muzaffer Ahmad Bhat and other police and civil administration officials.

” It is great to see Waheed giving out such a brilliant performance and making name of Celestial Buds proud. I am also proud of Tawheed who finished second in junior group. I hope they continue to perform in similar manner and bring laurels for State,” said Muzaffer Ahmad Bhat.
