Srinagar: The unbeaten 121 run knock from mere 59 balls by Rohan Rathi helped home side Bijbehara Sports Club cruise into the final of the Bijbehara Premier League (BPL)-3 by defeating spirited Elegant Strikers in the semifinal played at Higher Second Ground Bijbehara , Anantnag, J&K on Tuesday.
Chasing a decent target of 179 runs set by Elegant Strikers , Rohan Rathi carried his side home for the loss of five wickets.
Batting first Strikers posted 178 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 20 overs. Manzoor Elahi scored 52 runs from 36 ball’s while as Nadeem Bhat scored 49 from only 21 balls for them. Bilal and Ishfaq Bhat took two wickets each for Bijbehara Sports. Asif Rasool, Parvez Rasool and Saleem took one each.
In reply, while all the batters from Bijbehara Sports failed to make an impact, Rohan Rathi played unbelievable knock. He stood like a rock in the middle and carried his team home. Bijbehara Sports achieved target in 18.4 overs for the loss of five wickets.
Rohan Rathi remained not out on 121 of 59. He hit 9 sixes and 12 boundaries. Next best scorer in Bijbehara inning was 13 off 5 from Saqib.
For Elegant , Sagar, Nadeem, Amir took one wicket each. Rohan Rathi was awarded player of the match.
