Baramulla: Dept. of Physical Education emerge as champions of the tourney

GDC Baramulla, May 14: In the grand finale of the 3rd Cosco Interdepartmental Cricket Tournament played at Govt. Degree College Baramulla, the Department of Physical Education defeated Department of History by a healthy margin of 50 runs to lift the trophy.

Batting first, Physical Education posted a mammoth total of 136/4 on board in alloted 10 overs. Mohd Momin was the top scorer with 56 runs to his name while as Ishfaq and Tahir added 26 runs each. Saqib took 2 wickets for Department of History.

In response, Dept. of History only managed to score 86/8 in their alloted 10 overs. Sumair Dar top scored with 39 runs to his name. For Dept. of Physical Education, Aqib Tantary bagged 3 while as Zubair also scalped 2 wickets in his spell.

Mohd Momin was declared as player of the match for his brilliant batting perfomance while as Ishfaq Nabi walked away with the player of the tournament award for his brilliant batting perfomance throughout the tournament.
