Babar hasn’t won any big match for Pakistan since 2019: Imad Wasim

Srinagar: Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has made a massive claim about Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, claiming that Babar is yet to any big match for Pakistan since 2019.

On Friday, Australia defeated Pakistan by 62 runs in the 18th match of the Cricket World 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

During the match, Azam failed to impress as he was out after scoring 18 runs in 14 balls.

While speaking on Haarna Mana Hay, show in Pakistan, Imad Wasim said that Azam has not won a match for Pakistan against a big team since 2019.

“At the world stage there is pressure but it is also the place where you prove your worth. I think the last time Babar performed in a big match was against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup, when he scored a century. But after that he is yet to win a big match for Pakistan. This is not criticism but a fact,” said Wasim.

“Being the number one batter in ODIs, it is Babar’s responsibility to win matches but questions will be raised if he doesn’t do that. He needs bat in accordance with the team’s requirement. He has the ability to dominate bowlers and this World Cup is the place to do that,” he added.
