Babar Azam breaks another World Record, overtakes Hashim Amla 

Srinagar: It is another and it is another record for Pakistan all format skipper Babar Azam as the star Pakistan batter broke another World record in ODI cricket on Friday.

In the ongoing 4th ODI match against New Zealand in Karachi Babar Azam achieved the record of Fastest to 5000 runs in ODI cricket.

Babar Azam reached to milestone in 97 innings overtaking  the previous record holder, Hashim Amla who had achieved it in 101 innings.

Babar now holds the top spot on the list of the fastest batters to score 5,000 ODI runs, followed by Hashim Amla (101), Viv Richards (114), Virat Kohli (114), and David Warner (115).

Babar recently also became the second-fastest Asian batter to score 12000 international runs, just falling short of the record held by Kohli.

Babar achieved feat during his 49-run knock in the first ODI against New Zealand at Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The 28-year-old reached the milestone in his 277th international inning, whereas India’s superstar batter took only 276 innings.
