Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is officially on, with the long-awaited heavyweight showdown confirmed for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
After years of speculation and weeks of negotiations over the location, the blockbuster all-British heavyweight fight has finally been given an official date and venue.
Saudi boxing chief Turki Al-Sheikh confirmed the fight on social media, ending uncertainty over whether the bout would take place in Britain or the United States.
“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight. Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me. I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over,” Turki posted on X.
He later shared the official fight poster, confirming:

The fight has been one of boxing’s most anticipated matchups for years, with Joshua and Fury both having previously held world heavyweight titles.

The location had been a major talking point during the negotiations. Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn had pushed for the fight to be staged in the UK, with Wembley initially viewed as a likely destination.
However, there had also been efforts to take the event to the United States, with Madison Square Garden in New York reportedly considered as a possible venue.
Those plans have now been shelved, with the fight officially returning to British soil.
Joshua, 36, and Fury are set to meet for the first time in what promises to be one of the biggest heavyweight boxing events in recent years.
The two former champions are also expected to appear together at a press conference in London next week as the build-up to the December showdown begins.
