Amir, Iftikhar come out in support of Shan Masood after fans chant ‘Parchi’ during 5th ODI vs NZ

Srinagar: Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir and middle order batter Iftikhar Ahmed have come out in support of left hand batter Shan Masood after fans chanted ‘Parchi’ against Masood during fifth ODI in Karachi against New Zealand.

Amir reacted to the viral video in which fans were chanting ‘Parchi’ while Shan was fielding on the boundary line.

“Only Allah can make such fans happy. Shan Masood has made it into the team through his performance. I still believe Shan is the most hardworking player in Pakistan cricket,” Amir Tweeted.

Iftikhar Ahmed also reacted to the video and termed unfortunate.

“Is video ko dekh ke bohat afsoos hua. Aisay taunts ka shikaar mein khud bhi raha hoon. @shani_official is one of the most hardworking & fittest player in the team with amazing work ethics. He has earned his spot through various performances & a lot of runs,” Iftikhar Tweeted.

Shan played three ODIs against New Zealand and scored 52 runs with a highest score of 44. He replaced Imam-ul-Haq as an opener in the fourth and fifth ODI. Imam, who scored 90 in the third ODI and bagged the man-of-the-match award, was dropped from the squad in the last two games.

New Zealand beat Pakistan in last ODI.

Iftikhar Ahmed’s effort went in vain as New Zealand bowlers were good enough to bowl out Pakistan for 252 runs and win the fifth and last ODI by 47 runs.
