From the day West Indian hard hitting all-rounder Andre Russell expressed his views about the batting order in Kolkatta Knight Riders (KKR), everyone knew it that all is not within the team.
It was indication about the internal tension that is brewing inside former Indian Premier League champion’s camp. There were total contradictory statements from the players and team management regarding Andre Russell’s batting position.
Then the all-rounder openly questioned some of the decision making, besides adding that the atmosphere around the team hadn’t been the healthiest.
Now the KKR assistant coach Simon Katich has accepted the internal tension plagued with streak of defeats.
“Can’t hide from the fact that there was tension,” Katich said at press conference.
“That was pretty evident from the last few games after we got on a bit of a roll with losses. We’ve got to address that as a group. What is so important in the IPL is the dynamic if the group and I guess the unity,” he further said.
