Ajmal Pathan wins National Cycling medal for J&K

Srinagar: In a major feat, the trainee of J&K Sports Council Khelo India Cycling centre Budgam, Ajmal Pathan has bagged medal for J&K in the National Cycling Championship going on in Puri, Odhissa.

Ajmal Pathan who trains under International Cyclict Akbar Khan in Khelo India Cycling Centre Budgam, bagged silver medal for J&K in the 10 Kilometre Youth Boys Category of 29th Road National Cycling Championship organised by Cycling Federation of India at Puri, Odhissa.

The event witnessed participation from the finest young cyclists from across the Nation and Ajmal’s stellar performance stood out.
Amjal Pathan hails from village located on Gulmarg highway Check I Kawoosa, known as cycling hub of Kashmir.
Ajmal was selected by Akbar Khan during Khelo India selection triias for Khelo India cycling centre Budgam.
Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul has extended her heartfelt congratulations and has vowed to continue support to cyclists in future as well.
Cycling and Sports Fraternity has young cyclist for the achievement and has termed as new milestone in the cycling arena of J&K.
“Cycling is one of the toughest sport on the planet. To win medal in it at All India level isnt easy and Ajmal has done that at Under-14 level. If guided and trained properly he has bright future and we may see him reach International level,” said a well known cyclist.
