 Ahmad Banday sparkles with double Ton, anchors JK inning  

Srinagar: Anchoring JK inning, Ahmad Omar Banday slammed 214 runs against Himachal Pradesh on the third day of the ongoing four-day U-23 Col CK Naydu trophy match at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, Amtar.

Having being sidelined by JKCA selectors from Ranji trophy squad, talented opener was forced to play in Under-23 event. While JK Ranji trophy openers have been struggling, Banday has been piling on the runs for his Under-23 JK team.

Continuing his superb form, Banday played unbeaten marathon on Wednesday JK scoring 214 from 346 deliveries that included 30 boundaries and two sixes. Ahmad got out to Vashist , LBW just before end of day’s play. Thanks to Ahmad’s knock, JK were able to score 334 runs for the loss of five wickets in reply Himachal Pradesh’s first inning total  of 469 runs. Muhammad Haziq Bhat was was standing strong on well composed unbeaten 52 while as Fazil was on 9.

JK are still trailing by 125 runs in reply to HP’s first inning total of 469 all out. The highlight of JK inning so far has been valiant knock of highly talented Ahmad Banday. Before Banday, JK had lost four wickets that included Wadhwan scoring 22, Zaid Muhammad 22, Shubam Pundir 0 and Paras Sharma 19.omar-banday

The Ahmad and Haziq have added 142 runs between them for the 5th wicket partnership.

For JK to avoid conceding first inning, Haziq is the only hope. If he goes on like he is currently playing then they may well overhaul the total and earn some crucial points from the match.
