After demolishing Brock Lesnar, Goldberg sets his eyes on Royal Rumble

NEW DELHI: If Goldberg squashing Brock Lesnar in an 84-second match wasn’t shocking enough, the opening segment of Monday Night RAW threw another surprise. The former WCW star, following his decimation of the Beast Incarnate at the 30th annual Survivor Series, revealed that he will enter the 2017 Royal Rumble match in order to have one last title run of his professional career.
Highly speculated to have returned to the WWE for a one-match deal, Goldberg kicked off the longest running weekly episodic television show. And while fans expected a good-bye, the two-time World Champion dropped the bomb. Goldberg announced that on his way back to the dressing room, he was probed by RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon, who asked him if he had “one more title run left in him?”
The question was answered soon. “So do I? So you bet, I got one more title run left in me,” Goldberg announced to a resounding response from the crowd. “As Stephanie McMahon said, the road to the title is through the Royal Rumble. And in the Royal Rumble match, everyone is NEXT.”goldberg-return
The 30th anniversary of the Royal Rumble will be held at the Alamo dome in San Antonio, Texas on January 29, 2017 – 20 years after the Rumble was last hosted there – will be Goldberg’s second. During the 2004 Royal Rumble, Goldberg entered the Rumble at Number 30, but was interrupted by none other than Lesnar before he was eliminated by Kurt Angle. 12 years later, Goldberg seeks retribution.
