England skipper, Eoin Morgan and batter Sam Billings might not be able to take field in the second ODI against India after they had injury scars during the first game.
Morgan sustained an injury between his thumb and the index finger which seemed to be webbing and required four stitches thereafter. Billings also had to leave the field in despair as he hurt his shoulder while trying to save a boundary.
“We’re going to wait 48 for hours and see how it is…give as much time as needed to hopefully be available for Friday,” Morgan said at the post-match interaction as quoted by Times of India.
“I haven’t spoken with Sam about his batting so I don’t know in his instance… In mine, it’s never going to be at 100 per cent but it’s not that I can’t hold a bat,” He added.
The duo’s absence could largely affect this England side, given they are already without Joe Root and Jofra Archer, two of their important players.
The second ODI is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 26. India is currently on top, having defeated the Englishmen in first match by 66 runs.
