After 3 months, I League returns to Kashmir:RKFC to face Delhi FC on Sunday

Srinagar Mar 17: After around three months, the I-League is back in Kashmir, with Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) set to take on Delhi FC on Sunday, (March 17) at TRC Ground, Srinagar.

RKFC have 37 points from 19 matches with 10 wins, five draws and four defeats.

Now the RKFC is eying to win three points from a match against Delhi FC on Sunday.

At a pre-match press briefing on Saturday, RKFC head coach Ishfaq Ahmad expressed his excitement about playing in Kashmir in front of fans after a considerable gap.

“We hope our team will play good football and win three points in the match against Delhi FC. Our fans should come in large numbers, and I expect that RKFC will give them a good show on Sunday. Fans are the backbone of our team and the 12th man for us. I love to see them in large numbers. It is their team, and without them, the team is nothing,” Ishfaq said.

About the overall performance of the club this season so far, Ishfaq said, “The players played beyond our expectations. I am really proud of them. It is for the first time that RKFC has also performed well in away matches. We have so many local players who have also scored goals this season. There has been a huge improvement in RKFC compared to previous seasons.”

RKFC player Shaher Shaheen said it was a great feeling to play in Kashmir. “For us, both home games and away games are important. We are looking to win Sunday’s match against Delhi FC,” he added.

Delhi FC Assistant Coach Israil Gurung said playing against RKFC in Kashmir will be a difficult match. “We will try our best to win this game,” he said.

Delhi FC player Suprodip Hazra also briefed the media.

RKFC is the only club representing J&K in I League and was founded by the late Sandeep Chatoo.
