Adding another feature to her glittering cricket career, Jammu based woman cricketer turned coach Roopali Slathia has been appointed coach of Central Zone team for Inter-Zonal woman cricket tournament starting in Guntoor, AP from June 11.
Before been appointed as coach of the team for the event, Rupali was also incharge during coaching for the team.
Before turning coach, Roopali was a seasoned cricketer and lead J&K team as captain for 10-years. She is the only female cricketer of J&K who regularly played in Rani Jhansi tournament. As a player she was twice selected and attended India camp. And she is the only female cricketer of J&K till date to reach that level.
Hailing the appointment of Roopali, her coaching colleague, Abida Khan, said, “She was a great player and now she is turning out a great coach. Her work ethics and hardwork is key to success for her”. ( Source GK)
