Kashmir FC will start its main round second division I-League campaign against Fateh Hyderabad AFC in Hyderabad on Saturday.
After having finished the qualifying round on top in North Zone, Kashmir FC would be hoping to emulate the success in main round as well. However, the competition in the main round is expected to be tougher as all the teams have qualified. 
In qualifying round, two Kashmir based sides, Real Kashmir and Kashmir FC participated. The Kashmir FC qualified for the main round.
The team left for the campaign on Thursday and were flagged off by Director Floriculture Hussain Mir, Director Khyber Group Riyaz Tramboo, Dy Director Tourism Riyaz Ahmad, President KEA Muhammad Yasin Khan and the officials of the JK Football Association.
The dignitaries encouraged the players spoke to the team players and wished them good luck.
The team is supported by J&K Sports Council, JKFA, J&K Tourism, Pick & Choose Super Market and Zaffron Drinking.
Chief Coach, Hilal Rasool Parray expects team to do well in the event despite other sides being strong on paper.
“We are going into the event with the intention of making it all the way into I-League. We want to finish the main round and qualify for I-League. However, that will not be easy as other teams appear to be much stronger than us. Though we have also strengthened our side but still they are better than us”.
“We have two foreigners and some other top footballer’s of the state. However, still our main focus will be on our local stars. We qualified due to the performance of our local stars and we will be dependent on them in this round as well. Our lead striker Aakif will be missing opening match due to his examination.
In the main round second division I-League Kashmir FC would be playing five away matches and five home matches.
The team is headed by head coach Hilal Rasool Parray of J&K Bank, team manager Adil Qadir, and Dr Zahoor Illahi Medical Head and Fahd Khan head media & publicity.
