The State Winter Games-2017 organized by Winter Games Association of J&K (WGAJK) concluded at ski resort of Gulmarg on Monday.
On the concluding day 13 races in three snow based sports were held at Kongdoori in which around 140 boys and girls representing different districts took part in competitions in Slalom race of Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding under the supervision of Dhanbahadur. Similarly 10-km Nordic Skiing race was held under the supervision of Olympian Nadeem Ahmad.
MLA Tangmarg and President Winter Games Association of J&K Muhammad Abass Wani was chief guest and General Manager J&K Cable Car Corporation, Malik Riyaz Ahmad was guest of honor.
Wani said the Association will host National Junior Alpine Ski Championship at Gulmarg from April 10.
He expressed his gratitude to J&K State Sports Council, Tourism Deptt, J&K Cable Car Corporation, High Altitude Warfare School and Gulmarg Development Authority for extending their full support to make the endeavor of WGAJK a grand success.
In Junior Alpine boys (1996-98), Waseem Ahmad, Jehangir Ganai and Ishfaq Bhat bagged first three positions respectively while as in Alpine Ski girls (1996-98), Sabia Nabi and Shabista Shabir bagged first two positions.
In Alpine Ski boys (1999-2000), Muhammad Shahdad, Suhail Hajam and Younis Dar bagged first three positions while as in Junior Alpine girls (Born 1999-2000) category, Sana Afzal And Nausheen Bilal bagged first two positions respectively.
In Junior Alpine boys (2001-02) category Ayan Tariq, Sheikh Sajid and Iqbal Manzoor bagged first three positions respectively while as in Junior Alpine girls (2001-02) category, Zara Hashim,Muskan Lateef and Shamail bagged first three positions respectively.
In Junior Alpine boys, (2003-04), Shoaib Malik, Saif ul Bari and Azhar Hussain bagged first three positions respectively while as in Junior Alpine girls (2003-04) category, Rubaab Ali Punjabi, Mehnoor Jan and Sarah Aijaz bagged first three positions respectively.
In Nordic (men) 10-Kms, Muhammad Abid Bhat, Syed Qasim and Syed Ishfaq bagged first, second and third places respectively.
