Hyderabad: Real Kashmir FC continued their strong resurgence in the relegation stage of the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Gokulam Kerala FC at the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Srinagar-based side, popularly known as the Snow Leopards, secured their third consecutive win to move up to 11 points and climb to second place in the relegation standings. Meanwhile, Gokulam Kerala remain in danger, sitting second from bottom with eight points.
The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when a defensive lapse handed Real Kashmir the lead. A corner delivered by Marius Obekop created confusion in the box, resulting in an unfortunate own goal by Vitor Barata.
Gokulam Kerala’s troubles deepened before halftime when Bouba Aminou was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, reducing his side to ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Malabarians showed intent going forward, but Real Kashmir remained composed and carried their one-goal lead into the break.
The visitors capitalised early in the second half, doubling their advantage in the 49th minute. Another set-piece from Obekop caused problems for the defence, and Shedrack Charles was on hand to convert from close range after the ball rebounded off the post.
Just three minutes later, skipper Mohammad Inam produced a moment of brilliance to put the game beyond doubt. Intercepting a poor throw from the goalkeeper, Inam calmly chipped the ball into an empty net from long distance to make it 3-0.
With a comfortable lead, Real Kashmir controlled the tempo in the latter stages, limiting Gokulam Kerala’s attacking opportunities. The numerical disadvantage proved decisive as the Kerala side struggled to mount any meaningful comeback.
The emphatic win further boosts Real Kashmir’s survival hopes as they build momentum in the relegation stage, while Gokulam Kerala face increasing pressure in their fight to avoid the drop.
