Misfiring Real Kashmir FC slump to 3rd straight home defeat, remain winless

Srinagar: Real Kashmir FC’s winless run in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025–26 season continues to spiral, as the Snow Leopards suffered a third consecutive home defeat on Monday. A 2–1 loss to Chanmari FC at TRC Turf Stadium exposed familiar flaws—lack of finishing, defensive errors, and an overall lack of direction—leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from seven matches.

Chanmari FC delivered a disciplined performance to edge past Real Kashmir FC 2–1 in Srinagar, with goals from Marlon Rangel and Lalruatsanga sealing a crucial away victory.

Despite dominating large stretches of the first half, the home side failed to convert their chances. Captain Mohammad Inam and the foreign contingent looked lively, while Marius Bedzigui emerged as a constant attacking threat. However, poor finishing haunted Real Kashmir once again, as they struck the woodwork twice—first through Inam and then Bedzigui.

Against the run of play, Chanmari FC took the lead just before half-time. A floated set-piece delivery from P. Christopher Kamei was misjudged by goalkeeper Sayad Bin, allowing Marlon Rangel an easy finish into an open net.

The visitors doubled their advantage shortly after the hour mark when Lalruatsanga capitalised on another defensive lapse, side-footing home from a well-delivered corner.

Real Kashmir responded almost immediately. Bedzigui curled in a stunning free-kick from the edge of the box to reduce the deficit and briefly revive hopes of a comeback.

However, those hopes were short-lived. Shedrack Charles squandered a golden opportunity from close range, blasting over the bar with the goal at his mercy. Chanmari FC then managed the game efficiently, restricting Real Kashmir to limited clear chances and holding on for all three points.

What was expected to be a turning point against a struggling Chanmari side instead turned into another setback for Real Kashmir FC. With the season slipping away and relegation fears looming, the Snow Leopards must urgently address their inefficiency in front of goal and recurring defensive lapses if they hope to salvage their campaign.
