Real Kashmir FC Face Must-Win Clash Against Diamond Harbour FC Amid Relegation Battle

Srinagar, Apr 1: Real Kashmir FC (RKFC) will be aiming for their first win of the season when they take on Diamond Harbour FC (DHFC) in a crucial Indian Football League (IFL) fixture on Thursday at the TRC Ground.

The Srinagar-based side has endured a difficult campaign so far, having failed to register a single win in the five matches played this season. With only four matches remaining in their league campaign, RKFC find themselves stuck in the relegation zone and are now fighting for survival.

Coming into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Namdhari FC, the Snow Leopards are under pressure to deliver in front of their home fans and keep their hopes alive.

Head coach Ishfaq Ahmad acknowledged the challenge ahead but remained optimistic about his team’s chances.

“Diamond Harbour FC is a strong side with a good coach. This is our second home game, and it is an important opportunity for us to secure a positive result. We need to stay focused, play to our strengths, and execute our plans well,” he said.

Despite the disappointing results so far, the RKFC squad—comprising a mix of local, national, and international players—still believes a turnaround is possible in the closing stages of the league.

“Pressure is part of the game. If we can get the right results in these remaining matches, we can still improve our position,” Ishfaq added, urging supporters to come out in large numbers and back the team.

RKFC midfielder Kamal Issah also expressed confidence ahead of the fixture and called on fans to support the team in what is shaping up to be a decisive phase of their season.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 PM, with all necessary arrangements in place at the venue.
