Lahore, October 23:The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the national squads for an action-packed home season featuring limited-overs series against South Africa and Sri Lanka, followed by a T20I tri-series that also includes Zimbabwe.
The upcoming series, spread across Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad, will mark the return of several senior players and give opportunities to rising talents as Pakistan continues to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Abdul Samad Return to T20I Squad
Pakistan’s 15-member T20I squad sees the comeback of Babar Azam, Abdul Samad, and Naseem Shah, all of whom missed previous international assignments. Youngster Usman Tariq earns his maiden national call-up and stands as the only uncapped player in the squad.
The T20I series against South Africa will be played from October 28 to November 1, followed by the much-anticipated T20I tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, scheduled from November 17 to 29.
Shaheen Afridi to Lead Pakistan in ODIs
In the 16-member ODI squad, star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi retains the captaincy, while Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan strengthen the batting lineup. The squad also features returns for Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, and Haseebullah, ensuring depth in both pace and spin departments.
Pakistan will host South Africa for three ODIs from November 4 to 8 in Faisalabad, followed by another three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi from November 11 to 15.
