Syed Azaan of PDMDP Judo Centre Srinagar Wins Bronze in School Nationals

Syed Azaan from the PDMDP Judo Centre in Srinagar secured a bronze medal in the 57 kg category at the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Judo Championship held in Ludhiana, Punjab.

The championship featured competitors from across the country, making Azaan’s accomplishment a significant achievement for Jammu and Kashmir.

Trained under Kabra Altaf, Kashmir’s only NIS-qualified female judo coach, Azaan displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition. Her performance stood out as she overcame multiple tough matches to secure a podium finish.

This medal marks the second bronze for the PDMDP Judo Centre during the championship, as Nazia Fatima, another student of Kabra Altaf, also won a bronze medal in her category a day earlier.

Both athletes’ successes highlight the growing prominence of judo in the region and the impact of professional training and guidance at the PDMDP Judo Centre in Srinagar.
