T20: Delhi thrash JK by 8-wkts

 

Srinagar: Star studded Delhi T20 side defeated lowly JK by 8-wickets in the opening match of the Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 event at Dharamsala on Sunday.

JK batting first were able to score mere 106 runs in allotted 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. JK batsman were not able to shift gears in T20 mode at moment of the inning. Shubham Khajuria with 26 from 36 deliveries was top scorer Pranav Gupta scored 24 from 38.

Instead of giving chance to some T20 specialist Mithun Manhas gave chance to himself in this match and was able to score only 18 runs from 19 balls.cricket

In reply Delhi batting line up did not find the total tough enough to chase. Delhi achieved required target in 16.1 overs for the loss of two wickets. Gambhir fell early scoring only one run while as Dhawan scored 30. Ukmut Chandh scored unbeaten 49 while as N Rana 11.

Delhi won match and gained four points from it while as JK got none.

It was the match in which Manhas had kept some of the known T20 specialist of JK out and instead included himself and other non-specialists.
