WATCH: “Very Happy, my mother is here”: Babar Azam’s heartfelt interview after 100 in PSL

In a thrilling clash at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi clinched a dramatic victory over Islamabad United in the 13th match of PSL 2024. Babar Azam’s outstanding century paved the way for an 8-run win, marking a defining moment in PSL 2024.

Scoring a formidable 201/5 in 20 overs, Peshawar Zalmi owed much to Babar Azam’s unbeaten 111* off 63 balls, embellished with 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. Despite early setbacks, Babar’s tenacity anchored the innings.

In a poignant post-match interview, Babar shared his elation, especially with his mother witnessing his PSL heroics for the first time: “Very happy, my mother is here and hope she enjoyed the match.”

Reflecting on the match, Babar remarked, “This was one of my best innings in front of this crowd.”

The victory, Peshawar Zalmi’s third consecutive triumph, elevates them to third place in the points table. Babar Azam’s leadership and batting prowess were evident with his second century in PSL history, both achieved while batting first in 83 matches.

With their next challenge against Lahore Qalandars on 2nd March, all eyes remain on Babar Azam as Peshawar Zalmi aims to maintain their winning streak.
