Srinagar: In a shocking news from the Indian football arena, the owner of the Real Kashmir FC, Sandeep Chattoo has passed away.
As per persons close to Real Kashmir FC, Sandeep Chattoo suffered a massive heartattack in New Delhi on Sunday. His remains are scheduled to arrive in Jammu later today.
“Apart from that, Sandeep sir has passed away due to heartattack no further information has been provided yet. Some of the club officials from Kashmir have already left for Jammu. The whole club is in shock,” said a footballer associated with the club.
Real Kashmir FC is revolutionary club in J&K’s history and Sandeep being its owner played a revolutionary role in the development of football in J&K. His passing away is going to affect club and J&K Football badly.
Real Kashmir FC has issued the following statement:
“Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) owner Sandeep Chatoo died on Sunday due to a cardiac arrest in New Delhi.
Family sources said that , Sandeep suffered heart attack in New Delhi. He was rushed to the hospital but, unfortunately, could not survive. His body will be brought to Jammu for his final rites.
Sandeep, survived by his wife, son, and daughter, also owned CH2 Hotel Sonawar.
Curtently Real Kashmir FC is busy in the i-League. With 20 points to its credit, it is right now at rank two. Of 11 matches, it played, it won six and lost three as two were draws.
Meanwhile J&K Football Association has mourned Sandeep’s “sudden and heartbreaking loss”. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire football fraternity,” the Association said in a statement.
