Srinagar: J&K senior women cricket started its campaign in the Senior Womens T20 Trophy on a disastrous note as they were thrashed by Madhya Pradesh by 85 runs at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Friday.
In the match, J&K batting completely failed playing in a test mode in T20 format. Chasing a target of 141 runs in 20 overs, J&K could manage to score only 55/8 in 20 overs.
Earlier batting first, Madhya Pradesh scored 140 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Anushka Sharma with 34, Soumya Tiwari with 33 not out, and PN Khemnar with 31 were highest scorers for them. For J&K, Chitral Singh Jamwal took three wickets while as Rubina Syed abd AN Tomar took one each.
In reply, J&K scored 55/8 in 20 overs. Rubia Syed with 14 was highest scorer for them. Such was a dismal batting that next best scorer in J&K inning were its extras of 8. Poonam Soni took three wickets for Madhya Pradesh.
