Vijay Hazare Trophy: Riyan Parag stars as Assam knockout J&K on way to semi’s


Srinagar: Riyan Parag played sensational knock of 174 runs off 116 balls as Assam knocked out J&K from the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament.
In the quater final played at College Ground Ahmedabad on Monday, Assam beat J&K by seven wickets as Parag helped them chase mammoth total of 351 runs.

Despite posting huge total of 350 runs on board thanks to centuries from Shubham Khajuria and Henan Malik, J&K had to end on losing side courtesy sensational ruthless knock by Parag. During his innings hit 12 sixes and a 12 fours.

J&K had posted 350 run total with tons from Henan Malik 124 (113 balls, 5 fours, 5 sixes) and Shubham Khajuria 120 (84 balls, 8 fours, 8 sixes). Fazil Rashid alsi scored fifty.

In reply Assam slipped to 45 for two before Parag and Rishav Das (114 off 118 balls) got into the act. They had a stand 277-runs between them.

It was Parag’s third century in the ongoing Hazare Trophy and made a daunting task look easy for Assam.

Brief scores: J&K 350 for 7 in 50 overs (Henan Nazir 124, Shubham Khajuria 120, Fazil Rashid 53).
Assam 354 for 3 in 46.1 overs (Riyan Parag 174, Rishav Das 114 not out) by seven wickets.
