Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Assocaition (JKCA) on Thursday issued a fresh notification regarding the participation of registered players in ‘unrecognised’ local tournaments.
The notification started by saying, “JKCA has not granted permission to any non affiliated local clubs to conduct tournaments in UT of J&K.”
It further said that players who have been selected to play JKCA’s ongoing Cricket for Peace tournament are also not allowed to play local leagues.
“It is once again reiterated that all players registered with JKCA for season 2021-22 and selected to participate in JKCA Cricket for Peace Tournament Talent Hunt 2022 are not permitted to participate in such non recognised local tournaments.” The notification read.
“Any player violating these instructions will be liable to Disciplinary action. This notice is being published pursuant to the decision of the Sub Committee, JKCA.”
Meanwhile, several questions have been raised on JKCA’s decision of disallowing players from playing local cricket since the association itself organises very few or no matches at all. The major question being asked is, “If players won’t play local cricket, what will they do throughout the year?”
