Baramulla, February 13: Sheeri Stars on Sunday defeated Delina X1 in a one-sided encounter by 7 wickets to lift the Diamond Cup at Delina, here.
Batting first, Delina X1 lost quick wickets at regular intervals as they only managed to score 42 runs in the allotted 10 overs. Saqib Bashir was the top-scorer with 13 runs to his name. Mohd Shafi and Mashooq took 3 wickets each for Sheeri Stars.
In response, it was a cake walk for Sheeri as they chased down the target in just 4.3 overs loosing only 2 wickets (44/2 in 4.3). Rouf Jerry was the top-scorer with 17 runs to his name.
Mohd Shafi was declared as player of the match for his game changing bowling spell while as Adil Meer walked away with the player of the tournament award for his brilliant all-round performance throughout the tournament (144 runs +7 wickets)
