Handwara, August 20: An all-round display by Faisal Farooq Thursday steered Spartan Bandipora to a big win over North Strikers in the ongoing Ganapora Premier League (GPL) at Ganpora ground, here.
Faisal first scored a fiery hundred before scalping a four-wicket-haul to take his team home.
Earlier, after batting first, Bandipora made huge 193 runs, thanks to Faisal’s special performance. The right-handed batsman looked unstoppable from the word go, lastly, scoring 118 runs. For Strikers, Ubaid picked a four-for.
In reply, Urooj gave Bandipora a flying start as he removed Strikers’ openers early. Later, however, North Strikers did some recovery, owing to fine knock of 56 runs by Tawseef.
Faisal though with his slow off-spin did the damage again. He sent four Strikers’ batsman to pavilion, while Urooj also took four, helping Bandipora to run away with 13-run win.
Faisal, for his all-round performance, bagged the man of the match award.
