Irfan Pathan to continue his role in JKCA

Srinagar, February 29: Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan is reportedly confirmed to continue his duties for J&K Cricket Association as mentor for the next season.

After his inception as player-cum-mentor in J&K senior team in 2018-19 season, Pathan was retained as mentor for the 2019-20 session. Pertinently, with J&K pulling off a good season, Pathan is going to be a part of the set-up yet again.

The all-rounder, however, was largely criticised for not traveling with team throughout the season. He was usually seen doing commentary for Star Sports in various events.

Nonetheless, the current administration of JKCA, led by CEO Ashiq Bukhari is quite impressed with how Pathan has managed the things in the team, hence been given another gig.

Irfan is soon going to chalk out the new plan for the 2020-21 season and email the same to JKCA, The New Indian Express reported earlier. The Baroda-born will focus on to keep J&K prepared as they will be featuring in Group A&B of Ranji Trophy next season.
