Srinagar, July 22: District Srinagar girls dominated the Provincial Level Inter-District Volleyball tournament in Under-14,17 and 19 categories that concluded in Srinagar on Sunday.
The tournament was inaugurated by Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K, Dr. Saleem ur Rehman at Youth Hostel Srinagar on July 18 and the competitions were held at BHSS Jawahar Nagar, GHS Chattabal and Gindun Ground Rajbagh synthetic courts. The competition was held in Under-14,17 and 19 age group categories. In the event around 228 girls from various districts of Kashmir Division participated.
District Srinagar remained overall champions. Srinagar Girls outplayed other districts of the Division and lifted the titles in all the three age groups.
At Gindun Ground Rajbagh, in Under 19 category final, Srinagar Girls defeated District Baramulla in straight sets while as at GHS Chattabal venue in Under 17 category final Srinagar girls defeated District Ganderbal Girls. At BHSS Jawahar Nagar venue in Under 14 category final, Srinagar Girls defeated Budgam Girls.
District Youth Services & Sports Officer Srinagar congratulated the teams and the field staff of District Srinagar for achieving this feat.
