Anantnag, June 22: The Salia Cricket Championship is set to kickstart on Saturday at Eidgah Ground Salia.
The tournament organised by the Royal Hawks Family is one of main attractions of this historical ground. The place has a rich history where cricket is being played since 1950s.
Meanwhile, in the first match of the tournament, Salia Amar XI, led by Mr Mateen, one of the oldest clubs of the area, takes on a relatively new team Seer Youngsters.
The opening ceremony is expected to be a grand one where the many renowned cricketers of district Anantnag will be present. Other than them, there will be some other dignitaries of the area who have been pioneers of development in various different avenues of the society.
Moreover, well known commentator of the Valley, Mr Khan Raja will also make it to the venue.
