Younis scores one more ton, inches closer to 10,000 runs

ABU DHABI: With an another test century veteran Pakistani star player, Younis Khan is 444 runs away from reaching the landmark 10,000 runs in test cricket.

Playing his 109th match at Abu Dhabi, the 38-year-old proved his mettle once again by rescuing the team at the staggering position of 42-2.

This is his 33rd Test ton and with one more century, Khan will find himself at the number fifth spot of the player with most Test Hundreds.

Khan debuted in 2000 under the captaincy of Saeed Anwar against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, where he scored his century against the formidable Lankan bowling attack with likes of Chaminda Vaas, Dnt Zoysa and Muralitharan.

There have only been 12 batsmen in cricket’s history to have scored past 10,000 runs in Tests, Khan being the only Pakistani to have scored 30+ Test hundreds is all set to expand the list.
