Chahal who is currently in England for World Cup praised former Indian skipper helping the team members in different ways.
“Whenever I am in doubt, I rush to Mahi bhai. He has got an abundance of experience. Not just me, it helps all the members in the team,” Chahal told Timesofindia.com.
Chahal said that Dhoni reads both body language and mind, making task easier for bowlers by suggesting the line and length.
“Even when he is behind the stumps, his eyes are on us and the batsmen. He can read body language perfectly. He is a great mind reader,” Chahal said.
“He can read a batsman’s footwork closely and then, after a couple of deliveries, he tells us where exactly to bowl. And it really works for me,” the youngster said.
The Virat Kohli-led Indian team lost the first warm-up match against New Zealand while pipped Bangladesh in the second one. The side will play its first match of World Cup against South Africa on June 5.
