Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to bid goodbye to the chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq and head coach, Mickey Arthur, after the World Cup.
Their terms are ending in mid-July, which is exactly when the World Cup will end. The board hasn’t given a thought to renewing their contract.
Former cricketer, Aamir Sohail is expected to replace Inzamam for the selector’s post.
“Sohail’s name is top among the list of short-listed contenders. PCB’s managing director, Wasim Khan will make the decision on new appointments for the position of the chief selector and head coach,” PTI quoted PCB source as saying.
Pakistan hasn’t been in good touch ahead of the World Cup as the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team lost couple of ODI series prior to the mega event. They are set to start their campaign against West Indies on May 31.
