T20s: J&K end tourney with a big win against Manipur

Jammu and Kashmir senior team on Thursday ended Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on winning note as they trounced Manipur by eight wickets in the last match.

Opening batsman, Shubham Khajuria led the side in the absence of regular skipper, Parvez Rasool, who had injured himself yesterday while taking a catch. There were quite a few changes in the playing XI, with Shahrukh Dar and Nawaz Rather making their debut.

Meanwhile, earlier, Manipur while batting first made a mammoth score of 182 runs, owing to a fiery ton by opener, Mayank Raghav. For bowling side, Rasikh Salam scalped three wickets.

In reply, J&K got off to a superb start. Jatin Wadhwan who looked in fabulous touch throughout the tournament, scored a quick half-century before returning to pavilion. Later, it was the duo of Bandeep Singh and Shubham Pundir who steered the team to eight-wicket win.

Bandeep made 26-ball 59 runs while Pundir scored 30-run cameo. J&K concluded the tournament with three wins among the six matches.
