MS Dhoni adds another title to illustrious cabinet, wins local tennis tournament in Ranchi

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is a jack all of trades and master of all. After conquering great heights as a cricketer while winning several accolades for his country, Dhoni is now showing his prowess with a tennis racquet on the court. Dhoni was recently spotted playing tennis in a local tournament in Ranchi and unsurprisingly, he lifted the title in his respective category. Not the part of the Indian T20I sie anymore, Dhoni is currently enjoying his time away from cricket in his hometown Ranchi.

Dhoni plied his trade in the JSCA Country Cricket Club Tennis Championship in Ranchi where he took part in the men’s doubles category. He played with a local tennis player and ended up winning the trophy. As per reports the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman won the final 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets and left the crowd mesmerised.

Pictures of Dhoni being awarded the trophy has taken social media by a storm. Many fan accounts on Instagram shared the former Indian captain’s photos holding the trophy after winning the tournament. Chennai Super Kings also posted a tweet acknowledging their captain’s achievement.

It’s just another trophy for the illustrious cabinet of the master. Dhoni, the only Indian captain to have won all major ICC trophies, is currently out of the T20I squad owing to his poor run with the bat. 2018 was one of the worst years in MS Dhoni’s career so far as he failed to get going across formats. After a series of dismal performances against England followed by Asia Cup and West Indies, he was left out of the T20I squad.

Rishabh Pant, who has often been touted as his natural heir was roped in into the squad with Dinesh Karthik. Team India drew the three-match T20I series against Australia 1-1 and is currently playing a practice match against Cricket Australia XI at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Test series starts on December 6. Dhoni will be seen in action next in the upcoming ODI series against Australia next year.
