ICS whites defeated ICS Reds in the final of the Islamia College inter-group cricket tournament played at Islamia college ground Hawal on June 4-2018.
In the keenly contested final the captain of ICSC Reds team chose to bat first after winning the toss. They scored 178 runs in the allotted 25 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Imtiyaz and Gowhar were the prominent scorers for ICS Reds with scores of 36 and 31 respectively. For ICS Whites Billal and Mohsin claimed two wickets each. Chasing a competitive target of 179 runs on a low bounce surface, the Whites team scored the required runs in 21.4 overs losing only three wickets. For them Zaid with unbeaten 61, Kamran with unbeaten 49 and Mehraj with 44 were the prominent scorers. For Reds Mehfuz Khan, Imtiyaz and junaid team took a wicket each.
ICS Whites won the match by seven wickets. Zaid was declared the man of the match.
The incharge Principal of the college Prof. Aijaz Bhat gave away trophies to both the teams. Staff and the students appreciated the fact the way the whole tournament and particularly the final was organised by the Department of Physical Education of the college.
