New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and India’s discarded off-spinner recently joined hands for a noble cause. The duo visited a labour camp in Bahrain and arranged a lunch for over 2000 labourers from countries like India and Pakistan. Besides it, the duo spread the message of peace and prosperity as well.
“Shahid Afridi & Harbhajan Singh visited the Labour Camp (Nass Corporation) in Sitra, Bahrain,” read a Facebook post by Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF).
“Shahid Afridi Foundation arranged lunch for over 2000 labourers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and many other countries. The crowd was so excited to see the 2 superstars. During their speech, both Shahid Afridi & Harbhajan Singh delivered the message of peace, love & togetherness. SAF will keep spreading positivity to make this world a better place. #HopeNotOut,” it added.
Earlier on Thursday, both Afridi and Harbhajan took to Twitter and shared their messages ahead of the event.
“Breaking all barriers, crossing all boundaries for love & peace & humanity. ThankU @harbhajan_singh for supporting @SAFoundationN #HopeNotOut,” Shahid Afridi tweeted.
“Humanity first..#Hopenotout such great work they r doing for the humanity.. lovely to be part of.. more power to @SAfridiOfficial & team,” read Harbhajan’s tweet.
Meanwhile, during the event, Harbhajan thanked Afridi and said: “Lala(Afridi) didn’t tell me where he was taking me, he said we were going for lunch. But now I am very happy to be here among you all. I would love to be of any help if possible.”
The SAF is a non-profit organisation which was founded three years ago in 2014 it focuses on providing the basic amenities to the underprivileged in Pakistan.
