700 wickets for Mohammad Abbas in first-class cricket

Srinagar: The out of favour Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas has achieved a career milestone of 700 first class cricket wickets during ongoing County Championship.

Abbas who is currently representing Hampshire, claimed the feat in the second innings of the County Championship match against Kent.

He trapped Kent’s Jack Leaning plumb in front of the wicket to complete 700 wickets in first-class cricket.

Mohammad Abbas became the 14th player from Pakistan to reach this milestone.

Abbas has been a regular performer for Hampshire since joining the side in 2021. In the ongoing County Championship season, he has taken 26 wickets in nine games at an average of 27.34.

The right-arm pacer has represented Pakistan in 25 Tests from 2017-2021, taking 90 wickets at a average of 23.02.

He played his last Test during the away series against West Indies in August 2021, taking three wickets in the first innings, while he remained wicketless in the second innings.
