Welkin Premier League: Sanctorum FC defeat M.E.T Sopore to set up final against SRM Welkin

Sopore, Nov 23: In the ongoing Welkin Premier League Football Tournament held at Ruby Ground SRM Welkin, today Sanctorum FC defeated M.E.T Sopore FC in a one sided encounter by 4:1 to cement their place in the finals of the tournament.

Both the teams were fighting for possession in the middle of the park and it was M.E.T Sopore who settled in quickly and scored a goal in the very first minute of the game and took an early lead of 1:0. Sanctorum FC on the other hand replied back in style courtesy Faisal Fayaz’s brilliant header to level the score 1:1 in the 20th minute.

M.E.T Sopore were yet to fully recover from the blow, soon Umar cashed in on the opportunity to double the lead for Sanctorum and the first half ended on a score of 2:1 in favour of Sanctorum FC.

Sanctorum FC started the second half strongly as Shayaan Parvaiz scored a scintillating goal to pile up on the miseries of M.E.T Fc who tried their best to get back into the game but were denied by some brilliant footballing skills by Sanctorum FC.

The final minutes of the second half saw one more goal from Umar of Sanctorum who scored a magical goal from the right wing to hand Sanctorum a big win by 4:1 in the second Semifinal of the tournament.

Faisal Fayaz was declared as player of the match for his electric performance in the match.

Sanctorum FC will now lock horns with the host team SRM Welkin FC in the finals of the tournament on Tuesday, November 28th.
