Srinagar, May 30: Umran Malik was Sunday named emerging player of the tournament in the final ceremony of IPL 2022. He thanked fans for their support while expressing joy for winning the award.
Umran was awarded a trophy and a cheque worth 20 lakh and it was Mohammed Shami who received the award on his behalf as he wasn’t present at the venue.
Umran was wrecker-in-chief for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, picking 22 wickets to end up their highest wicket-taker and overall fourth in the tournament.

From the very start of the tournament, Umran kept fans on their toes with his express pace. He won “fastest delivery of the match” award in all the 14 games he played.
“I am really happy to win the emerging player award. Thanks and keep supporting me and I will give you good resulte,” he said.
