Vijay Hazare Trophy: Complaints of favoritism, indifference in selection

The Kashmir based players who are part of the ongoing selection trials in Jammu for the Vijay Hazare one Day trophy have complained of indifference and favoritism on part of the selectors.

The players have alleged that they were not given enough chances to prove themselves while as some were given repeated chances.J&K Ranji trophy team1

“Selectors don’t even bother to look at the players. It seems they have already selected the team and we were called here mere for the show. I was given one match in which I couldn’t do much while as some players were given three to four chances,” said a player.

Another player said that Jammu based selector’s don’t pay heed to what Kashmir based players are doing while there is none from Kashmir to look for.

“The selectors are indifferent and don’t listen to our pleas at all. I am not the only one who is complaining for lack of chances to prove but there are lot of other players,” said another payer.

Meanwhile selectors have refuted the player complaint and said that they take everything into consideration while selecting a team.

“It is not only about batting, bowling but other related factors as well. We look into fitness, discipline, grace , style and other lot of things as well. There is no favoritism involved at all,” they said.
