Umran Malik will take some knocks, but has ability to bounce back: Brian Lara

Srinagar: J&K pace sensation Umran Malik after having below standard IPL 2023 so far was on Thursday once again dropped from Sunrisers Hyderabad playing eleven against KKR.

Malik so far has bagged only five wickets in his seven IPL matches of the season. Before getting dropped against KKR, Umran Malik bowled only one over in previous match. Against Delhi Capitals Malik went for 19 runs in the only over he bowled.

However, in a pre-match press conference , SRH Coach and Cricket legend Brian Lara showed his full faith in Jammu Express.

“As an aggressive bowler, a lot of batters will look to counter-attack Umran,” said Lara said.

“Like every sportsperson, you have to keep improving. You never really know it all till your career is over. A lot of bowlers who played for West Indies in my time were always learning something new. He’s a player we’re very proud of. He will take some knocks, but he has the ability and character to come back,” Lara added.
