Srinagar: The Team India stand-in captain for T20I Hardik Pandya has been hailed for his gesture of of handing winning trophy to J&K pacer Umran Malik after winning second T20 and series against Ireland in Dublin.
India beat Ireland in second T20 by four run to seal the series and at presentation Hardik Pandya handed winning trophy to Umran Malik who had bowled the last over.
Twitter have hailed Pandya’s gesture and have termed it similar to former India captain MS Dhoni. During his reign of Team India MS Dhoni on numerous occasion did the the same thing by handing the winning trophy to youngster.
Earlier, despite putting a mammoth total of 225 runs on the board in the second T20I at The Village in Dublin, Ireland gave India a run for their money.
India captain Hardik Pandya also explained the reason for giving young speedster Umran Malik the responsibility of bowling the last crucial over of the match.

“I was trying to keep all the pressure out of my equation. I wanted to be in the present and I backed Umran. He has pace, with his pace it’s always going to be tough to get 18 runs. They played some amazing shots, they batted very well, credit to them and credit to our bowlers for holding their nerves,” Pandya said in the post-match presentation.
