Continuing to make confounding decisions, JKCA selectors on Sunday dropped Mohammad Tahir who was highest wicket-taker among seamers, leading to a huge backlash from fans and former officials.
Tahir- the right-arm fast medium having scalped 14 wickets in 5 matches under an appealing economy of 3.3 stands overall third most wicket-getter while as number one amongst the fast-bowlers. However, JKCA selectors undoing his performances left him out of the team ahead of the remaining matches.
Reacting to this ‘disgusting’ decision, fans came out lashing hard at selectors,
“Seems like JKCA selectors have just one job- drop good performers and bring in their favourite ones. Word disgusting is not enough to see Tahir out of him despite being highest wicket-taker,” a cricket follower told KSW.
Adding to it another follower said,” JKCA is surely completing the quota by sending everybody to the team that is close to officials or selectors at the cost of exceptional talent.”
Meanwhile, former JKCA officials also marked this as injustice done to the young lad,
“If he (Tahir) bowled well and has taken valuable amount of wickets as well, what’s the reason of dropping him? It surely is injustice done with him.” He said.
