Srinagar, January 31: Jammu and Kashmir U-23 side needs 292 more runs to win with 9 wickets in hand to pip Goa in the ongoing clash of Col CK Nayudu Trophy.
The tourists, after gaining first innings lead, were given a hard run by Goa captain Nitin Gadekar in the second innings. The swashbuckler played a scintillating unbeatwn knock of 187 runs to take his team to 357-run total, hence giving J&K the target of 333 runs.
In response, J&K lost opener Sufyaan early and were 41-1 at the end of day-three play. Earlier, skipper Vivrant Sharma and Muneeb Munaf struck fifties, helping J&K score 233 runs to hosts’ 208-run first innings total.
In bowling, Vivrant scalped a fifer while Lone Nasir scalped three in the first innings while almost all bowlers were amongst wickets in the second.
