U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy: Dhruv, Bilal slam tons as J&K scores massive 540 in 1st innings vs Uttarakhand

Srinagar: Promising middle-order batters Dhruv Sharma and Bilal Ahmed Bhat slammed classic centuries and made a 6th wicket partnership of 232 runs to help Jammu and Kashmir score a huge total of 540 runs in the first innings against formidable Uttarakhand in U-19 Men’s Cooch Behar Trophy at Highlanders Sports Academy Kashipur today.

Uttarakhand in reply were 152/1 in 34 overs in their first innings. Opener Abhyuday was unbeaten on 72 off 111 balls, studded with 11 boundaries, while wicketkeeper batter Sanskar Rawat was at the crease on 43 runs. Poorvansh Dhruv was the only batter to be dismissed by Mohd Mousab Bhat at his individual score of 33 runs.

Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 332/4, J&K rode on a big partnership between the duo of Dhruv Sharma and Bilal Ahmed Bhat to score a massive total of 540 runs. Dhruv Sharma scored 117 runs off 252 balls studded with 17 boundaries, while Bilal Ahmed made 118 off 108 balls, studded with 20 fours. Zaid Ahmed scored 66 runs off 70 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes.

For Uttarakhand, Prabal Sachdeva captured 4 wickets by giving away 86 runs in 32.3 overs, while Dev took 3 wickets by conceding 94 runs in his 29 overs. DP Singh and Aarav Mahajan bagged 2 and one wickets respectively.

Uttarakhand is still trailing by a 382 runs with 9 wickets in hand and two days play left in this 4-day match.
