Two J&K players to play star-studded Indian Veteran Premier League

In a first, two Jammu and Kashmir cricketers have been picked to play star-studded Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL) for the Red Carpet Delhi franchise.

Global cricket stars like Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Herschelle Gibbs, Suresh Raina, Imran Tahir and many others are set to take part in this T20 tournament. It will be the first edition of IVPL and is to be played in Dehradun from February 23 to March 03. The live broadcast of the league will carried out on various platforms.

Samiullah Beigh and Omar Alam are fast bowling all-rounders and have featured for Jammu and Kashmir at the national level and will rub shoulders with some of the greats of the game in the league.

Samiulla has played 61 First-class matches, 37 List-A and 23 T20s. He has also played for North Zone and attended several IPL camps. Omran Alam also has played for J&K in Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is quite famous in corporate and local cricket too.

Red Carpet franchise, the team that Samiullah and Omar have been picked for, will be captained by South African veteran Herschelle Gibbs. Several international stars like Thisara Perera, Richard Levi, Ashley Nurse, etc are also part of the team.

Red Carpet Delhi squad for the first edition of IVPL

It is for the first time ever that former J&K players have been picked to play in a T20 League where legends of the game will take part.
